This is a beautiful and amazing trail, as long as you look past the trash- water bottles and beer cans are everywhere. Literal piles of beer cans and water bottles and chip bags. Highly recommend going to Red Bluff. I would recommend bringing snacks. Other than that it was awesome, we hiked for hours with a four year old. Water bottles, clothes, computer monitor (that was weird.)

There is some parking closer to the actual canyon, but figuring out where to turn while driving is difficult since the bluffs are blocked from the highway by trees and the roads are unmarked. There are tons of trails and the scenery is gorgeous. there are NO trash cans or utilities. Beer cans EVERYWHERE. Other than that it was awesome, we hiked for hours with a four year old. This lone tree and dramatic sandstone outcropping are so beloved by Michiganders they can be found on one of the state’s coins. Really great day trip to see some beauty in the south.
